To My Younger Self

The older and wiser I become, the more I realize how precious time is. On this thoughtful Tuesday, here is what I would say to my younger self: Make the most of every day that is “gifted” to you – and it IS a gift! Learn to spend time with the people and things that are most important/precious to your heart.

So today, I encourage you to make the most of every day. Why? Because before you know it time will have passed and you won’t be able to recapture what could have been a powerful experience or memory. Housework will wait, that project won’t fail if you spend 15 minutes reading to a child, wear that ‘special’ dress (or nighty) now instead of waiting for a special occasion, turn off the television and turn on the music and DANCE like no one is watching!

Love yourself! Be mindful to tell those you love how important they are to you. Be intentional. Make time to walk, laugh, sing, dance, jump, shout, eat what you want, and simply l.i.v.e. When you are able to do this, you will have created a life with no regrets. Life is shorter than you think.

So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.Psalm 90:12
